An innovative psychotherapeutic approach for a changing world.
In-depth psychodynamic, developmental, and systems approach for assisting individuals, couples, families, and groups.
We also coach individuals and teams to effectively analyze situations and accomplish tasks, create better work-life relationships, enjoy work more fully, and learn to exercise leadership in their organizations.
In both our psychotherapeutic and coaching practices, we add a social psychological component that helps to understand the surrounding systems affecting and influencing [one’s own and others’] roles and behaviors - and how to change them.

Meet Barbara Caioli
Graduate Student Intern
Greetings! I am a graduate student intern specializing in developmental psychology and family systems. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Through my work with the Life-Long Learning Lab, I’ve conducted research on human development across the lifespan, with a special focus on how family systems influence and are influenced by individual growth and change.
I’m also an active member of the Alabama Counseling Association, where I’ve had the privilege of presenting my research at their annual conference. My passion lies in combining my knowledge of developmental psychology and family systems to help individuals and families overcome challenges and find meaningful ways to thrive.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
~ Viktor Frankl
This approach has helped my teenage daughter to see this world not only from the American perspective but also to value our Latin-American roots. Gaining a systems perspective plus these people skills have opened up her world: I have watched my daughter mature before my eyes.

“I’ve discovered that I can now relate to both my friends and parents while feeling grounded in myself. I am more aware of how the world works, and as problems happen in my life, I know how to make better sense of them and not take them so personally. I seem able to learn from them and find solutions I hadn’t been able to before.”
